Volkswagen Repair: 1974 vw beetle 1600cc engine, aircooled volkswagen, speedy jim

i just baught a beetle and when i tried to start the car it would turn over but not start, i replaced the coil, plugs, wires, carb, and still nothing, i dont know what it could be can u help me out thank you
