Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Kohler Command engine stall, starter solenoid, vent hole

Question
I have a Simplicity Hydrostatic riding mower that I purchased new in 1996. It has a kohler Command engine with model #CV15S, spec #41522 and serial #2612406444. It has approximately 300 hours on it and was freshened up about 5 years ago. I mow a 1/2 acre lawn that has a reasonable slope. For the last two years the mower stalls at the exact same spot in the yard every weekend (about halfway through mowing 1/2 acre or 15 minutes). It doesn't matter whether I mow up and down the slope or across the slope. When is stalls it will crank, but will not restart. If I let the mower sit for an hour or so, it will start and I can finish mowing with no more stalling. I have tried all of the simple things such as replaced the fuel filter, fuel line, oil, oil filter, spark plug, and air filter. I have also checked the vent hole in the fuel cap and it is clear. I just replaced the oil sentry switch and that didn't make any difference either. A local dealer suggested the starter solenoid and told me how to test it. The next time it stalled (last weekend) I immediately removed the spark plug and checked for spark. I had spark, but it still would not restart. That is when I replaced the oil sentry switch. Should I replace the solenoid even though the test did not indicate that is the problem or do you have any other suggestions? I live in southern Ohio although it seems like it is the Bermuda Triangle.

Thanks for you help.

Are you a creature of habit,do you mow your lawn the same way every time? You mean the coil not the starter solenoid the starter has nothing to do about stalling the coil does, the coil will break down and stop producing spark as it get overheated and when you let it cool down then you can restart and continue. If you have spark and its a bright blue spark the coil is good,if it looks like a very weak spark then it may be going bad. I think it could be the fuel solenoid on the bottom of the carb , I worked on a John Deere with a Kohler engine on it , same problem , ran it down to the fuel solenoid it was getting hot and shutting off. .
