Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Mountfield lawnmower engine hunting, lawnmower engine, warranty period

Question
I purchased a new Mountfield M150 lawnmower a few months ago, so it hasnt covered many hours use yet. The engine has developed a 'hunting' rythm, and this is closely followed by it stopping. This is usually when warm. I could return it to the manufacturer, but feel that it may simply be a problem that with advice I could fix. Also I cant afford the time without the machine, as I use it as part of a gardening business. Due to its age I dont feel that the issue will be a worn out part. Could you please advise me of any adjustment/cleaning that may rectify this problem? Many thanks.

Answer
Most surging problems are caused by a dirty carburetor.  Have you removed, dis-assemlbed and cleaned the carburetor with compressed air from an air compressor and carb cleaner.

Was there any warranty period on the machine?  If so, you may violate the warranty if you repair yourself.  If it is out of warranty then there's no problem.
