Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Bolens 17HP 42 cut riding mower, briggs stratton, starter wire

I have this riding mower it is an 8 speed. Model #13AN6839163 it has a Briggs &Stratton motor. We can not get it to start. Tried charging the battery that didn't work. We used the mower yesterday and when we went back out to finish the yard it wouldn't start. Any suggestions?

Check all of your wiring connections and fuses (if there are any). Follow the starter wire up through the machine and you will come to the solenoid. It is not uncommon for this part to go bad, which will not allow a connection from key switch to the starter. It is an inexpensive fix, and is not very difficult to do yourself.
