Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lawn mower cuts out, briggs and stratton, float bowl

I have a Briggs and Stratton/craftsman mower, 6.5 mulch.  it starts and goes and then stops.  has gas and new spark plug.  if not gas cap (read in earlier issue) then what else should i do, plz.  :)

How long does it run before stopping?  If it starts but dies within a few seconds the most likely problem is a dirty carburetor.  You can try draining the gas from the carburetor float bowl by removing the float bowl nut on the bottom of the carb.  Make sure the hole(s) in the float bowl nut are clean as this is the main fuel supply jet for the engine.
