The attachments on by troy bilt trimmer will not spin, even when pulling the throttle. The shaft inside does spin when the unit is operating, but once you put the attachments on, nothing spins. Do I need to replace the shaft?

try to see if the shaft spins when you can put a hold on it try to stop it from spinning sometimes you can see it spinning but when you put a load on it it can't handle it.. The shaft should only spin when you throttle up the rpm's Also you may want to remove the shaft to see what shape it is in the bottom may spin but it may not engage with the trimmer head.
