Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lx188 John Deere stalling, lx188, gas cap

my mower will start when its cold but after running 5-10 mins it stalls.  It will start back after 10 mins.  On a hillside it also sputters.  do you have any ideas?  I loosened the gas cap incase it was a vacuum issue.  it didn't fix the problem.  I'm thinking either coil over heating or fuel pump going bad.  can you help me please

Sounds like your coil may be breaking down when the engine gets hot.What you need to do is use the mower and as soon as it quits check the the coil for spark.Lawnboy lawnmower Model 5127e coil for spark.If at that time you have no spark then you will need to replace the coil.
