Land Rover Repair: purchase of 2000 land rover discovery, land rover discovery, ace system

Hello! I have fallen in love with a 2000 Land Rover Discovery Series 2. It seems in good condition, leather interior and is white/gold in color, has the ACE system, I believe, with 140000 miles.The dealer is asking 6500 but can work with me. My question is what things should I look for before signing on the dotted line. I love this vehicle, but don't want a lemon.

A 2000 Discovery at a used car lot with 140k miles should be about half that asking price. It didn't get there because it was a perfect gem.  It got there because it had problems the previous owner didn't want to fix. What's been done to it now?   I don't mean to be blunt, but that would be my starting point.
