Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): no gas in carb., briggs straton, electric fuel pump

Question
i recently asked about a craftsman mower model 917.270913 19.5hp. briggs & straton model 42E 707 type 2631 E3 CODE 0002255B MY COMPRESSION Reads 85 lbs. on one cylinder 76lbs. on the other. i have no fuel solenoid on this model. when i fill the carb. with gas it runs good. my question is if I install an electric fuel pump and bypass suction tube or new pistons and rings will it help compression so that that the suction tube would work? would oil additives help compression on this type of engine? i am sorry to flood you with so many questions, I Know you are very busy, but I am desperate at this point. thanks again. I hope to hear from you at your convienance.

Answer
When you say "fill the carb"  do you mean put gas into the carb and then it runs until the fuel is burnt  or do you mean it starts and continues to run?

I am wondering if you have a problem with the fuel deliverly to the carb? or you simply have a plugged up carb.  That is why i asked.. get back to me...  we will get er figured out.
