Motorcycle Repair: 2001 FLHRI, oil pan, tight fit

Question
I pulled my oil pump, and found it scarred from debris.  so, I want to pull my
oil pan to look for this debris.  rear wheel is off, 12 oil pan allen bolts are
removed, however the oil pan cannot drop lower than the plate that is welded
to underside of the frame.  I have tried suspending the transmission (from
the frame backbone) from the ceiling, lowering the frame to maximize the
compression of the rear rubber mounts.  this still does not give the oil pan
enough clearance to fit between the underside frame plate and the locator
bolts in the oil pan.

the second part of this question, is really the important part.

How do I remove the oil pan having already tried all the stuff above, and
more importantly, how will I be able to achieve enough clearance between
the oil pan and the underside frame plate to allow me to install the oil pan
with a new gasket, and be able to replace the two baffle springs whereas now
I have less then 3/8 " clearance between the bottom of the mounted oil pan
and the underside frame plate beneath it?

Answer
One you have the bolts out of the pan it should slide rearward and out. When you go to intall it you have to slowly slide it in and using a screwdriver compress the springs to get them in. the removal and installation is a pain and a tight fit, but it will work
Good luck and happy riding
