Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): craftsman 2cycle 37.7cc backpack blower (old) Model # 636796912, fuel mix, gas leak

I replaced fuel cock and the blower started run for a few minutes and then stopped and will re-start. Put new plug in, mixed 25:1 fuel. I messed around with the throttle screw on carb. How do I set this? It is also dripping gas through the air filter cover, could the float also be bad? Its made of plastic. Please help. Thankyou Kurt

The air/fuel mix needle should be set 1 and 1/2 turns out from the gently seated position.  Once the engine is at operating temperature you can then fine turn the mix.

I would replace the float and the inlet needle.  This should solve the gas leak.
