Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): converting points to electronic on 8 hp b&s, bolens garden tractor, briggs stratton

Hi , I have an 8 hp briggs and stratton  , model #190417-090201 , having problems with weak spark and happened to read a responce you made to someone about converting to electronic module ignition , and doing away with the points and condenser altogether.I replaced the points/condenser , put a new armature coil on it and still haven probs with it , I would really like to convert this , its in an older FMC Bolens garden tractor ,1976 or 1977 I think, any help would be greatly appreciatted , like , where to get one and how to hook it up , what to do with old points and wires , points plunger  , all those kinds of questions , thanks a bunch in advance , Scott

I believe your model # is 190417-0902-99 I can not find one with this #190417-090201.

Your engine may be too old to retrofit,search the internet with Google about retrofitting this engine with electronic armatures.Electronic ignition armature magneto coil for 7 - 16 HP single cylinder side valve engines.
