Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 42 Troy Bilt Bronco, blows 20 amp fuse, amp fuse, ac volts

Question
Last summer I bought the mower.  Early on last summer the mower was running fine then just stopped and would not restart or even turn over.  I followed the battery cables down and found a 20 amp fuse.  I pulled it out and it was burnt out.  I replace with a new one and it worked fine all summer.
Tried today to start(4 months later), and it started and ran for a few minutes then blew the same fuse.  I replaced it 3 times with same result.  I am handy but not a mechanic, what can you suggest.
Thanks in advance!

Answer
Hello Chad:

>>From your Description it Sounds like the Stator is Bad and Requires Replacing, there is a Bad Wire that is Touching Ground at Times or the Electric PTO (if applicable) is Bad and Requires Adjusting or Replacing.
>>Check the Stator/Charging Coils.
>>For Testing the Electrical (Charging) System on Mowers you can Use this Site Addy; http://engines.myfaqcenter.com/Answer.aspx?p_faqid=3438 and Use the Link for AC Volts/DC Amps Meter Setting Chart. This is for Briggs Engines and Works Well for Kohler, JD, Kawasaki, Tecumseh and Other Engine OEMs.
>>Send me the Model and Type or Spec Numbers Off the Engine and the Unit/Mower Model Numbers, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. The Engine Model Numbers May be Stamped Into the Blower Housing (metal engine cover) Above the Spark Plug. The Unit/Mower Model Numbers are Usually Located Under the Seat on a Sticker on the Body of the Mower.
>>If you Hit a Snag, have More Questions or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I Hope to be Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
