Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman chainsaw, snap ring, crankshaft

Question
How do you remove the clutch?

Answer
If you send me the model number, located on a small sticker, I can look up the parts diagram to see your clutch.  The model number format will be similar to xxx.xxxxx

Most clutches are threaded on to the crankshaft.  Usually the outer clutch drum, the part which turns the chain, is held in place with a C clip or snap ring.  So, you usually have to remove the outer drum to access the clutch that is threaded on the crankshaft.

Send me the model number and I can provide more specific directions for your model.
