Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): kOHLER cv-675, hello jim, valve train

Question
SAW YOUR RESPOSE TO ANOTHER POST ON THIS ENGINE: POST WAS-I recently had my 7 year old Craftsman mower (Kohler) seize up and throw a rod.  I use the tractor only for mowing.  I change the oil twice a season and the filter once.  The oil level was spot on when I started to mow; 5 minutes later, POW.

I have similar story, use only for cutting grass, I never changed the oil twice in one year but alway checked the oil.  Started up the other day and was using the headlights to see enough to start my snowblower.  Bang, it stopped cold.  I removed the top cover and could rotate it back about 320 degrees and stuck, carefull inspection, cracked block.  It must have thrown a rod.  I had also pulled the valve covers and the valve train looks intact.

Answer
Hello Jim:

>>Kohler, Tecumseh and the Other OEM's Produce Fairly Good Products these Days, but you Still get a One that has a Connecting Rod or Crankshaft Problem Occur Sometimes.
>>Sometimes S^&t Happens and there is Really No Reason or Explanation for this to Happen.
>>The Engine was Well Maintained and Serviced Routinely, but "It Threw a Rod or Broke the Crankshaft".
>>Thank you for Letting Us Know about you Experience with this Problem and Hopefully Everyone will Understand that it Happens to Everyone, Not Just Me.
>>Thanks for Using All Experts.
>>Have a Happy Holiday and May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.
