Classic/Antique Car Repair: 68 Chevy Impala water pump, chevy impala, heater hoses

I need to install a water pump into my impala, and I was looking for some guidance.  Thank you in advance!!

Hea- well no big deal, first drain the rad. than remove the fan-belts , if you have a shroud you should remove it,too.The bolts and pump should all clear the rad.  now the 4 bolts on the fan must come off so with a box wrench or socket, hold the fan so it will not turn and crack all 4 loose than you can remove all 4 of them. now you will have to take the lower hose off the pump and than remove the other heater hoses.  and now with a rachet take off the bolts holding the pump on. now clean off with a razor or scraper and clean the  old gasket junk off. now with the new pump put some silicone on the pump and than place the gaskets on the right way, also put some silicone on the motor part of the holes, and when you put the new pump on put a drop of silicone on each bolt just start each one than when all are in place and  in a bit tighten all of them till snug and re-check them . ok now just put the rest back. replace any hoses if bad. and it is a good idea to flush the system prior to replacing the new pump. ok hope I helped you out   RW
