Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): String Trimmer Starts then Dies, troy bilt tb25cs, speed nozzle

Question
I have a Troy-bilt string trimmer that will start, but as soon as I hit the gas it acts as if it is running out of gas and dies. As long as I pump the gas bulb and reset the choke it will start again and again, but when I hit the gas it dies. I have replaced the gas line, but that did not fix the problem.

Answer
It sounds like a carb rebuild/replacement is in order.  However this repair may exceed the cost of the unit.  What is happening is one of the passages in the carb--(the high speed passage or jet) is plugged  When it idles the engine is working off of an idle passage inside the carb, but when you go to accelerate it doesnt allow the fuel to flow up the high speed nozzle thus killing the engine.

Hope this helps
