Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman Lawn Tractor- 17 h.p. Kohler CV490, craftsman lawn tractor, solenoid

Question
Hi,I have a problem with my tractor stalling. It starts fine and runs great for awhile then just stalls. In the spring when this problem first started it would run for 20 or 30 minutes before stalling. It continually got worse until it only runs for about 5 minutes then stalls.I replaced fuel filter, air filter, spark plug and had carb  rebuilt. Now it runs good for about 20 to 30 minutes again and just stalls.I also touched the fuel solenoid when the engine was running and got a little shock. The guy who rebuilt the carb told me there was no reason that could happen and my solenoid tested good.I'm lost.Any suggestions? Thanks, Rick

Answer
My first question is, does it have spark when it dies? It is possible you could get a spark from the solenoid if it has a internal short. You could be losing power or ground to the fuel solenoid intermittently. I would check the plug on the wiring harness for the solenoid and wiggle it to see if the solenoid clicks off and on when wiggled.
