Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Briggss & Stratton Engine Model 31707 Type # 0137-E1, craftsman lawn tractor, question pool

I purchased a Craftsman Lawn Tractor in 9/2002 with engine on the subject line.  When starting the engine the first turnover is very slow then sppeds up to start the engine.  After running for about 10 minutes or so the engine stops - no backfire or anything else.  Upon waiting about 1 minute the engine restarts until it stops again.  I have replaced most of the the electrical parts but no luck.  Could use some help when you have time.  Thanks
