AnswerI'm not sure why the starter motor is hot, but after charging the battery, I would start the mower and check the charging system and see if it's putting out approximately 13.5 volts. If the charging system is working, I'm wondering if the starter is sticking and staying engaged causing the battery to get discharged. These are a couple of things I would check first.
