Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): B&S push mower enging 550 series wont start, intake tube, push mower

Hello,

I have a 550 series engine on my pushmower.  The other day I went to start it and it kicked a few times then died and I could not get it to start.  I took the carb apart and all looks clean, have lots of spark at the plug, and the air filter was off.  I cant figure out whats wrong.  The fuel isjust not getting to the engine.  the model# is 10T802 0547 B2     When I pump the primer bulb gas shoots into the carb and a bit shoots out a small port on the outisde of the carb.  Regardless the engine will not start.  Is there anyway to fix this?

One of the biggest problems we are having these days is with the gasoline we get. I would first try some fresh gasoline. If the fuel is getting to the throat of the carburetor, it should start with fresh fuel. If this does not help, look for a broken intake tube, they are plastic, and this could cause it, also a sheared flywheel key could be the culprit.
