Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: no fuel pump power, fuel pump relay, circuit description

Question
2000 olds intrigue 3.5 engine.  i replaced fuel pump and relay have no poer on grey wire at pump. ran hot wire from batt pump spins and car runs fine. what would be reason for relay not opening? i was checking fuses with a test light for power and when touch pcm/bcm fuse the relay and pump momentary activate. is there something that would shut down power to pump relay?  also if pull pcm/bcm fuse and reinstall will temperarily fire up relay and pump. what am i missing? thanks for your help i'm stuck

Answer
Hi
Here is a brief circuit description for the fuel system...
The PCM controls the fuel pump relay by supplying switched ignition voltage to the fuel pump relay coil. When the ignition switch is first turned On, the PCM energizes the fuel pump relay. The relay contacts close applying power to the fuel pump. The fuel pump relay will remain On as long as the engine is running or cranking and the PCM is receiving reference pulses. If no reference pulses are present, the PCM de-energizes the fuel pump relay within 2 seconds.

The diagnostic tree to follow make use of a scan tool.
Is the F/PUMP fuse good?
Is it hot at all times?
IF so I would then suspect the PCM AND OR the wiring from PCM to relay,  as it controls the energizing of the relay to ON.
If you let me know in a private follow up, how much electrical experience you have tools avalible, and how much or how far your willing to test, I'll be MORE than happy to help.
If you think it will go overhead, my BEST advice would be to then find a good auto shop and have them diagnose it.
IF it happens to be the PCM, it will need to be reprogrammed AFTER installation, so you'll need to find a shop with those capabilities.
I hope this helps
