Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 19 HP Briggs (No Spark), hp briggs, sectional index


Question
Motor is on a Craftsman mower. I checked for spark with a screw driver in one of the cylinder spark wires close to ground and no spark. I accidently touched the ground with the screwdriver in the spark wire and the second cylinder fired. ???? Whats going on here? I cannot get this to start. Brake is on, Blade disengaged. Seems backwards. Motor Mod # 42E707, Type# 2631 E1, Code # 9810225B

>>You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Engine at this Site Addy, http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Select the Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM and Enter the Model (5 or 6 Digits) and Type Numbers. Example: XXXXXX-XXXX. Then Double Click on the Model in the Results Area. Select Sectional Index. Now you can Select the Section of the Engine you Wish to View.
From your Description it Sounds like the Ign Coil/Magnetron is Bad and Requires Replacing.
