Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): FC540V - ES15 E/No FC540VA49949, similar equipment, john deere

While mowing the engine dies.  appears to be weak or no spark.  I purchased an igniter but can not find one on my motor.  Could there be a coil that has an igniter built into the coil?

I tried to look up this engine but it must be on a John Deere or similar equipment that is accessible only to dealers of that brand. I did look at a similar one and it shows the ignitor to be just a small box, this usually is mounted to the engine, but may be somewhere else since this is a manufacturer specific unit.
