Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): problems with my craftsman lawn mower, craftsman lawn tractor, craftsman lawn mower

I have a craftsman lawn tractor, model# 917.270810. I've been having this problem all season long, it starts and runs fine but after 5-10 minutes it will sputter and stall. I can re fire it and it will run for a couple of minutes and then stall. It's once the engine gets hot that the problem starts. I've taken the garden hose and cooled it off and when it re fires I will get a longer run time before it stalls. not sure whats going on. thanks

It's possible you have a ignition coil going bad. You really need to test it to find out. I suggest using a in-line spark tester. Put the tester in between the spark plug and coil and run it until it starts to give you a problem and watch the light on the tester.
