Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): oil leak kawasaki, crankshaft seal, john deere 757

John Deere 757 z trac 25 hp Kawasaki, org.owner (7yrs) 350 hrs. Developed small oil leak while back, now getting worse. oil shows up on cyl. fins just above oil filter, (right side only). runs great no vibrations or anything.

This sounds like it could be a leak from the crankshaft seal on the flywheel side, although I would think it would be coming from all sides. It is possible you can't see it on the other sides but doubtful to me. The only way you will be able to find out for sure is to pull the top cover, then the flywheel if you don't find any evidence under the cover.
