Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): murray 6.5 horse lawn mower, hi john, lawn mower

Question
Hi John, hope your well.I have 2 questions. I have the above lawn mower, I took it into a repair shop due to the wheel height adjustment clips being broken on one of the wheels. I also had
A couple of wonky wheels that needed to be replaced. The guy called me and said it would just be easier to remove the engine and put it on another base that he had in the shop. I was ok with that
Suggestion so he went ahead.

1. The spacer between the blade and engine mount seems to be short, I have to almost lower my wheels to the ground to cut my lawn now. Is it possible the repair guy put the wrong size spacer on? If so are there other sizes that I can get?

2. He played with the engine throtle, the machine ran real nice before, now its a screamer and I want to turn the throtle down, how do I do this?

Regards and thank you

Answer
To answer your first question, whoever replaced the deck probably didn't check but I bet your old deck actually allowed the engine to sit lower to the ground than the new one. As far as the second question, it's really difficult for me to tell you how to fix this as there are many different configurations on these engines, but the problem sounds like the throttle is being held wide open.
