Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lawn tractor, lawn tractor, carburetor

Question
i have a riding lawn mower i need to get started it has fuel spark and compression and when i pour gas into the carb it runs for a second then dies again what should i do ?

Answer
Usually if the engine will start by priming, i.e., pouring gas in the carb, then the carburetor is the problem.  Have you removed, dis-assembled, and cleaned the carb with compressed air from an air compressor and spraying carb cleaner through all the carburetor orfices?

Let me know.
