Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Kipor 2000 generator, watt generator, load speed

Question
I have a kipor 2000 watt generator, it will start fine and continue to work with a small load perfectly every time.  When I connect a large load say about 1300+ watts(hair dryer, toaster, etc) it will work fine for about a minute and then the generator starts to lose power, work erratically and sometimes shut right off.  If I disconnect when it is happening it can idle again perfectly.  But the weirdest thing is it don't happen all the time say about 8 out of 10 times.  I drained the tank and took apart the carburetor, changed the spark plug and cleaned the filter and none of it made a difference.  Could it be dirt in the carb(PORTS)?

Yes it could be that there is some dirt in the carburetor ,but since you say it runs smooth until you add a heavier load. I would suspect you check the governor, that is what controls the engine load speed. When you add a load to the generator it will increase the speed to keep up with the demand.Just like a riding mower when you start the blades it will bog then catch up and while you are cutting if you get in heavier grass it will speed up the engine to accept the load.
