Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Cub Cadet 1525 Steering problem, cub cadet 1525, front wheel bearings

Question
Hello, I have a Cub Cadet 1525 and I had a problem with a flat tire last year while mowing a large area.  I had no choice but to drive the tractor back on the flat and once I got it fixed it appears that I am having an over steering problem when turning the tractor in a tight left turn.  What I have done so far..

I have put the tractor on blocks and pulled off the front tires to see if it was an issue with the axles.  In manipulating them manually I noticed that the drag link on the right axle, when simulating a hard left turn doesn't stop at the same point as the left drag link does.  In doing a visual inspection i can't see where the failure might be and am looking for a likely culprit.  I am guessing it's either the steering gear, steering gear pinion or the drag links.  I guess my question is what in the steering mechanism stops the axles?  Thanks in advance for the help.

Answer
Since the design has two drag links the opposite drag link is suppose to prevent over steering.  I noticed several bends in the drag links.  I'm betting on of them is bent like you mentioned.  The steering gear could also be bent or just wore.  I'd place a small straight edge, may be a small square, and see if th steering gear is warped/bent.  Make sure and turn the steering wheel full left and right and check the steering gear for flatness at each point.

I also noticed the drag links are adjustable.  Have you tried adjusting them?  Are the front wheel bearings in good shape?
