Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): cub cadet lawn tractor, cub cadet lawn, amp light

Question
I have a cub cadet 1440 when i turn the pto switch to the on position the amp light comes on and the pto switch will not stay engaged i have too hold the switch up to keep it on in which the battery goes dead i changed the switch but it does the same thing

It sounds like you have a charging problem, meaning the engine is not charging enough to keep the switch activated.  You will need to troubleshoot your electrical charging system.   Since I don't know the model type and code of your engine I cant point you in the direction to go only to start checking the charging system off the engine.
