Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): oil leak / white smoke, crankshaft seal, belt pulley

Question
i read some of your replys and you may have already answered this question but here we go .i have a craftsman L2000 riding mower which had some oil leaking onto the belt pulley directly below engine . checked oil ...ok...mowed a little then rechecked oil . added oil . hard to see since it is new oil..but added til the stick said full . mowed a few laps then the PUFF of smoke came ! stopped mowing altogether in fear that i may have blown engine . i did start it up again and smoke came out but not as much . what  will i need to know before taking it to qualified person ?

Answer
Hello Donna:

>>From your Description it Sounds like the Head Gasket Blew between the Cylinder and the Push Tube Galley and is causing the White Smoke and a Bad Lower Crankshaft Seal is causing the Oil Leak.
