Hyundai Repair: 2002 elantra 4 dr handling, tie rod ends, worn shocks

Question
the car seems to be all over the road.  I call it floating. I just put 4 new tires on
and had a complete alignment done by a reputable repair facility. Nothing seems
to help the handling. any ideas?

Answer
First, check your tire pressures.  Excessively low tire pressures, especially in the rear, can make the vehicle difficult to control.

Next check your suspension and steering components for wear.  Worn shocks, struts, ball joints, or tie rod ends can make the car difficult to control as well.

If you find nothing wrong, you should take the car to a good suspension shop or the dealer to have it diagnosed.
