Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman Eager 1 lawnmower wont start after stalling, craftsman eager 1, eager 1 engine

Question
I have 3 yr old a Craftsman 4hp mower with Eager 1 engine (Tecumseh).
Last year I put in a carb kit and it ran like a champ.
This year it ran well and I mowed some of the lawn and I went through some really heavy grass which stalled the mower. It shook quite a lot when it stalled.
I could not start it after that.  I let it cool and still nothing.
I performed these trouble shooting steps:
-checked spark on spark plug, got spark but it looks a bit weak.  put new plug in just in case.
-put finger in spark plug hole and checked for compression while pulling cord. Seems ok (cant tell if its enough compression).
-checked that fuel air is entering carb and I can smell gas in the cylinder and the exhaust.
-used spray engine starter (which worked last year) but nothing.

I am thinking it must be something to do with the ignition or timing after it stalled last time. But I can try other things.  I have a lot of tools but not the specialty tools for engine repair.

thank you for your help.

Answer
Did you check the flywheel key to see if it is sheared?   The link below will help with checking the flywheel key:

What is your Sears model number?  The model number is located on a sticker, about the size of a business card.  The model number format will be something similar to xxx.xxxxx or xxx-xxxxxxx.

Let me know.
