Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): battery problem, fuse holder, lawn mover

Question
I bought a new battery with reverse post and did not notice. It sparked and I stopped and noticed I was hooking the cables up wrong. After hooking them correctly, the engine does not turnover. It is a Murray riding lawn mover.
Is there a fuse i may have blown?

Answer
Yes, there is usually a fuse, and it is likely blown as you have guessed.  On many, the fuse holder is closed to the solenoid, so
following the red cable to it is easy enough.  On the newer model
Murrays, there is a panel under the steering wheel held on by two
screws, if my memory is correct, it would be in there.  Let me
know how it turns out, or if that didn't fix it.
