Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Ariens lawnmower not moving, spark plug wire, tension spring


Question
Mylawnmower recently began to have a hard time moving under load. will go uphill at a very slow speed and when forced (hydrostatic)pedal to floor, mower stops. same situation in reverse. curious what to check and if I change the belt will this potentially help my issue? Ariens Hydro gear 036488. lawnmower ohv16 204217D.

>>Always Remove the Spark Plug Wire/s from the Spark Plug/s before Working on Any Small Engine unless the Plug/s must be Connected to the Coil/s for Diagnostic Reasons.

Then Select the OEM (Ariens). In the Next Window, Select your Type of Unit. Now Select the Series of your Unit. Now Select your Unit. Now you can View the Section of the Unit that Pertains to this Repair.
>>You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Engine at this Site Addy, http://www.outdoordistributors.com/Hydrogear/Hydrogear_Search.html . Then Enter the Model Numbers 036488 or 325-0750. Then Select your Model and Download the File for Online Viewing.
