Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): STX38 powertrain, planetary gears, pinion shaft

Question
Hi John, in a previous post i read that a tooth off the input bevel gear made the sympton of it in gear but slowing and then jerking back up to speed and then again like "freewheeling" and then g forward normally. I find no tooth off the gear. Is there a plan "B"...

Answer
Hello Jack:

>>Sorry for the Delay. The Weekend has Not been Kind to me and I am Behind in Answering Questions.
>>If there is Not a Tooth Broken on the Input Gear (Pinion Gear) or the Mating Drive Gear (usually the Pinion Shaft) of the Transaxle, then
>>Check the Teeth on the Small Planetary Gears of the Differential. These are Located Inside the Bevel Pinion that the Axle Shafts Slide into.
>>Check the Shaft Key of the Input Shaft that Holds the Pulley.
>>You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Engine and Mower at this Site Addy, http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.H... and Enter the Model Numbers and Click Find. Then Select your Model from the Search Results Area. Then Select the Sectional File. Then Select the Section of the Mower you Wish to View Online. *You can Drag the View Windows for Better Viewing.*
>>If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I Hope to be Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.
