Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Gas or no gas in tank, fuel stabilizer, water pump

Just purchased a 4hp Honda water pump model WB20X. My question is should I remove the gas during extended periods of storage.

There a lot of mixed ideas out there some say leave the gas in some say empty it out. Well I think that if you drain the gas and empty the carb everything will dry out. So what I do is leave it in. You need to put a fuel stabilizer in it. That will keep the fuel from breaking down over the winter, you can pick up a bottle pretty much anywhere and just follow the instructions on the label.
