Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Self propel, assembly drawings, select start

I am going to replace the self propel cable on a Toro Model 20016 SN 240000001-240999999).
Could you explain how the self propel mechanism engages & disengages? Is there a clutch somewhere?
