Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): John Deere Hydrostatic Drive, small engine mechanic, drive pulley

Question
Hello - I have a John Deere Hydro 165 mower that was leaking trans. fluid at the drive pulley.  I pulled the pump apart replacing the seal and, apparently, got something backwards when putting it back together b/c now when I push the lever forward (to go forward) I go back and when I pull back (to go backwards) I go forwards. The mower worked fine (power, speed, etc.) except the forward/reverse lever is opposite of what is should be.  So....

I pulled the pump apart a second time to double check myself and had two other experienced "shadetree'ers" look at it and nothing obvious is 180 deg. out or flipped. I carefully put it together again and same problem.

A small engine mechanic at a local dealer said I needed to rotate one of the casing parts 180, but couldn't remember exactly which one.  I'd like to know for sure what I need to do before I tear into this thing again!  Any suggestions?

Thanks.
