Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): McCullough electric chain saw, john thanks, model numbers

Question
QUESTION: I have an electric McCullough chain saw - EM14E - and I need the trigger switch. I've been told there are none available, so I'm wondering if there is a trigger switch for any other saw that I could rig to work.

ANSWER: Hello Jim:

>>Send me the Model Numbers Off the Unit, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you.
>>You might Locate a Trigger from the Site Addy that Follows if you have the Complete Part Numbers.
***Example Part #: 02-124000 12B EM14A (this is an Actual McCullough Model Number).***
You can View a Breakdown of this Unit at this Site Addy;
http://www.ordertree.com/cms/parts-lookup-help/73.html and Select the OEM (McCullough) and Enter the Model Number and Click Go. If No Results, then Select the Click Here for Help. Now Scroll through the Units Listed and Locate your Model. Then Select your Model and View
the Breakdown/IPL.
>>The Switch Part Number should be #215565.
>>I Recently had to Replace a Switch in a McCullough Saw and Ended up going to the Local Electrical Components Retailer and was able to Match up a Switch that Replaced the Old Switch.
>>If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

QUESTION: John –
Thanks so much for the awesome response! The ordertree website is great.
However, when I looked at the two closest diagrams, they were very close, but not exact.
I have scoured the chainsaw and cannot find a model number. Can you tell me where it is on the saw?
Also, you suggested going to the Local Electrical Components Retailer – is that a brand name of a store, or a generic type of establishment – could you please give a little more specific hint on how to find one?
Thanks again for all your help.
Jim

Answer
Hello Jim:

>>Look in your Local Phone Directory for a Local Electrical Contractor Supplier. They Usually sell Light Fixtures, Electrical Switches, Electrical Fuse Boxes, and ect to the Local Electrical Contractors in your Area or your Local Hardware Retailer may be Able to Assist you also. They have Catalogs for Special Orders. You can usually locate a Switch that will match.
>>During the Day, I tried to Locate a Switch from a MTD (Jenn-Feng Purchased McCulloch in 1999 when they went Bankrupt. MTD Supports McColloch in the US for Jenn-Feng. You can View a Breakdown of this Unit at this Site Addy; http://manuals.mtdproducts.com/mtd/public/list.jsp?BrandCode=10001 and Enter the Model Numbers MT3315 and a Serial Number. The Number  1 is all that is Required for a Serial Number. Then Select the Manual you Wish to View Online.), but this Switch has been Discontinued and you will have to Match a Switch to it.
