Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 49cc wildfire mini pocket rocket, mini pocket rocket, 49cc mini bikes

last night i was fixing up my bike due to gas leaking from the float and got it fixed after 3days of working on it and then i went to start it up and it would not shut off until i layed it on its side for about 5min then it shut off after having very high revving of the engine and i guess my question is as simple as can these little 49cc mini bikes blow up? ~thanks patrick
