Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): mower blades hitting the deck, mower blades, steel deck

Question
Hi Mr Nielsen
I have a Rover Self Propelled MulchNCatch, model # is 61M98.
My drama is it got slightly run over (someone reversing and they hit it) and now the blades hit the deck in a big way. Its on one side of the deck and its left deepish scrapes in the metal. Ive checked as best i can and the deck dosnt look out of whack and nothing else seems bent to my untrained eye. Any advise will be hugely appreciated as i have my own mowing business and cant work to my full potential till i fix this. I realise it will probably have to go to a repairman, but id like to clue myself in before hand (Past experience having car knowledge and mechanics trying to overcharge me has taught me that)
Thanks and have a great day :)

Answer
hi  rebbecca

i pressume this model has a alloy chassis  and is 20 inch cut with  briggs  intek 55 ohv
on it and blade disc with flail swingback blades.

all being =  if blade disc is not bent ,may have to physically check it.  and blades are not bent and are of correct length.    be sure to check  crankshaft pto is running true  no wobble or bend
if these are ok   then i would suspect that the body has been bent / twisted / out of shape
as nothing else would make the blades hit the body.

just as a matter of interest was this machine running fine before it got run over ?

just trying to rule out wrong disc or blade sizes being fitted  when serviced?

nb if the body was a steel deck  it would most likely be a bent / twisted  body

hope this helps

cheers paul
