Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): crafts snow thrower shaft bearing, shaft bearing, craftsman snow thrower

Question
I have a 8.0 hp craftsman snow thrower model #536.881800. Auger pins sheared . Need to pull shaft to get to them. Can not get the shaft bearing off the back side.Removed pulley but bearing is stuck at the very end of shaft.Any tricks or do I just need to pound it out, don,t want to damage shaft.Everything is disassembled but this.

Answer
Normally you do not have to remove any parts to replace the auger pins.  Nothing special with removing the bearing but be very careful pounding out the bearing.  If the bearing is really seized you can always use a die grinder or dremel tool to cut the bearing races to remove the bearing.  It is much cheaper, and easier, to replace a bearing then the shaft.

Did you soak the bearing with penatrating oil such as PB-Blaster, Zep Orange or Kroil?
