Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): wheelhorse 16-38 hxltransmision, transmission pulley, circular disk

Question
i have recently bought a wheelhorse mower but the rear wheels appeared to be locked up if i put the rod at the rear of the mower into the push possession it is just all locked up and impossible to push any ideas?

check your brake on the transmission.  It may be locked up. It is a round circular disk.  Remove the brake assembly -(by removing the two bolts that hold it on)


Also check the belt on the top of the transmission pulley to make sure its not wedged between the pulley and the case.  This will sometimes cause the tranny to appear to be locked up.

Before you tear into the transmission make sure of the type of transmission you have.  If you have a PEERLESS, parts may be very difficult to find.
