Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda GX610, s sears, starter solenoid

Question
QUESTION: I bought this Honda GX610 brand new. I'm not putting this on a tractor that used to have one like this on it. It is going on a 70's Sears ST16. The wiring doesn't match up and the local Honda dealer cant help me at all.

There are two grey female connectors comming out by the starter/solenoid.
Theres one black male connector comming from the fuel pump.
Theres one black female connector comming from behind the shroud in the flywheel area.
It has a rectifier but I have no ida where to hook what!
NEED HELP!!!

ANSWER: Garrett,   What you are doing is called a "repower"   and these can be very hard to do.  As you have found the engine is not a simple bolt in replacement.

Please get me the numbers off of the engine and I will research the wiring on this engine for you.

The numbers are located in the block near the oil fill.  It will look something like this...  GX610-xxxxxQA3

QUESTION: I looked around where you told me and I didn't see any numbers. The only numbers that I found were twards the back of the engine above the oil drain and they don't really match up with the example that you gave me. The numbers I found were this: GCAPK-1012137
Thanks

Answer
Garret,  I am attaching a link to a parts catalog, which is NOT much help.  I am afraid you are going to have to find, (Buy online from HELM) a Honda Tech manual for this engine.

http://cssportal.css-club.net/honda/pp-service/index.asp   It is the second manual on this page.. it is the PDF that is 4.3mb

FYI  you have a MODEL GX610-GCAPK   Serial Number 10121374  This info is very important in determine what kind of charging and wiring configuration you may have.  you need this info before wiring it into your current tractor.

If you still have problems contact the company you purchased the engine from OR get back to me and let me know where you live in the USA and I will help you find a Honda Distributor that can give you this information.
