Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): boost Hp, 8hp tecumseh engine, valve job

I have a wood chipper with a 8Hp Tecumseh engine and it's a bummer to use. Is there anything I can do to make it more powerful?

You might want to check the engine RPM and adjust to 3600 RMP.  That is the absolute highest RPM I would run for a wood chipper.

How old is the wood chipper?  If the engine is an L head engine 5-6 years you might consider a valve job but there is no guarntee you will notice a Hp boost.  A valve job can be pricy these days so it might not be worth the cost.
