Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): honda g200 engine, honda g200, adjustment screw

Question
I have a 70s honda g200 motor in my go kart. it starts but doesn't stay running. it boggs out. I'm not sure the mileage on it and i have made adjustments to the carburetor. I really need to know what all my settings should be at too. It hasn't always bogged out just recently. I have already taken an air compressor to the carb and still that didnt help any.

Answer
I am not sure what you mean by "settings"

If you have an adjustable carb you can start with the high speed adjustment screw turned out 1 1/2 turns.

RPM should be between 3400 and 3700 RPM

Carbs are cheap-Replace it and see if that makes difference

you should also remove the cylinder head and scrape all the carbon from the cylinder head and the top of the piston. Lapping and readjusting the valves at this point will be a good idea too!

Hope this helps!
