QUESTION: it does have a spark but so little & havent tried the starting fluid yet. the model no. is 917.376521 this is a craftsman rotary lawn mower 6.5 Hp Power-propelled 21" rear discharge.

thank you

Answer
FYI,you have a Briggs and Stratton engine, model 123K02-0447-E1.

If you dis-connect the small wire connected to the ignition coil and you have spark then the coil is working properly.

My be it you have a dirty carburetor.  Have you tried draining the fuel from the carburetor by removing the float bowl nut located on the bottom of the carburetor?  Make sure the hole in the center of the float bowl nut is clean...this is your main fuel jet.

Let me know if this helps.
