Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): starting my generac pressure washer, generac pressure washer, fuel stabilizer

Question
I left my generac pressure washer (sprint 375) in storage for about two years. Today it would not start. I drained out the oil and fuel and replaced both. Still will not start. Cleaned air filter. Do you think I need to change the spark plug? I have never done it myself. Thanks.

Answer
Pam:

I think the carb is most likely gummed up from sitting.  The only way to repair this is to take the carb off, completely disassemble it and make sure all the passages and orifices are not plugged.  You could also simply just replace the carb.  (In my opinion its more cost effective to replace the carb then to repair)

To prevent this problem from reoccurring you can do two things:

One-you can add a fuel stabilizer to the fuel in the tank and run the engine for approximately 5 minutes so that the stabilizer circulates throughout the whole fuel system

Or

run the engine completely dry of fuel.
